Obituary of Janice Turner Grant

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Janice Grant, loving wife to Thomas Grant, announces her passing which occurred on October 14, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on December 13, 1941, she was a daughter to the late Havelock and Agnes (McLaughlan) Patterson. Janice was employed at the YSJ Airport for many years, first with Atlantic Central Airlines as a Sales Rep and Ticket Agent then retiring from Hertz Rental Car after being employed there for 25 years. In earlier years, Janice was a member of the Eastern Star, holding many positions over the 20 years of her involvement. In her spare time, Janice enjoyed bowling, dancing, sunbathing and traveling to the West Indies. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and spending her days with her family. Janice will be dearly missed by her husband, Thomas, her sons: Douglas (Patricia) and Brent (Georgina), her grandchildren: Sara, Shannon, Sonya (Jeremy Barrieau), Thomas (Cassie Thomas) Jacqueline (Andrew Daviault) and Sabrina (Justin Arbuckle), her great grandchildren: Tyler and Tori Whittaker, Jolene Mailman, Audrey Chatterton, Simon Grant, Havelock Chatterton and Novali Arbuckle, her sisters: Betty (MacArthur) Sheilds and Donna Farkas, great friend and aunt Dina Dykeman, along with many nieces, nephews and members of her extended family. Besides her parents, Janice was predeceased by her brother Stewart Patterson. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). With respect for Janice’s wishes, there will not be a visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 17 at 12 Noon from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada or a charity of donor’s choice.
