Obituary of John C. Ayer

The death of John Calhoon Ayer of Ellerdale St., husband of the late Jean (Weir) Ayer, occurred on March 4, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Hopewell Cape he was a son of the late Herbert and Myrtle (Palmer) Ayer. John was employed with Saint John Shipbuilding as an electrician and electrical foreman. He was a member of Edith Ave. Baptist Church and was an avid Blue Jays fan. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. John is survived by son Charles (Treva) Ayer of New Maryland, NB; daughters Barbara (Lewis) Ricker of Ontario and Ellen (Mark) (Merry) Ayer of British Columbia; brother Richard Ayer of Riverview, NB; grandchildren James (Jennifer) Ricker and Paul Ricker, great-granddaughter Evelyn Ricker, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister Elma Mitton. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place in Lower Cape Cemetery, Albert Co. at a later date. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
