Obituary of Belle Heather Wilson

Belle Heather (Ely) Wilson (Majestic Drive, Grand Bay-Westfield, New Brunswick), beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away at the age of 56 on October 19, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital from a long and courageous battle with cancer. Belle was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on September 25, 1948. She was active in figure skating and became a hairdresser after graduating from Saint John High School. Belle married in 1969, and she and her husband moved to Scarborough, Ontario for 10 years before returning to Saint John. Belle touched many lives through her volunteer activities with Girl Guides, Duke of Edinburgh's Award, Canadian Cancer Society, Heart Foundation, Centenary Queen Square United Church, and St. Giles United Church. She loved life and had many other interests such as crafts, walking, shopping and playing with the dog. Belle is survived by her husband John Robert Wilson (Grand Bay-Westfield, New Brunswick), her daughter Wendolyn (Wendy) Louise Wilson (Grand Bay-Westfield, New Brunswick), her sister Carol Anne Hoyt (Edmonton, Alberta), 1 uncle, 3 nieces, and several grandnieces, grand nephews, and cousins. Her death was preceded by her daughter Deborah Ann Wilson, her parents Reginald and Marion (Hemphill) Ely, and her brother David Reginald Ely. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, New Brunswick (1-506-634-7424) with visiting 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday and Friday. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or organization of the donor's choice.
