Obituary of Allan Harris McCuaig

The death of Allan Harris McCuaig, of Morning Side Court, husband of Joan (Stewart) McCuaig, occurred on Wednesday, January 05, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Plaisance, Quebec, he was a son of the late Angus and Omea (LaFlamme) McCuaig. Allan was employed with Consolidated Bathurst as a sawmill manager. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the G.G.F.G.; he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8364 and the G.G.F.G. Association. Allan enjoyed cooking, reading, art and carpentry. He is survived by five sons: Roger (Suzanne) of Gatineau, Quebec; Leo (Hélène) of Ottawa; Paul (Valerie) of St. Catherines; Barry of Quebec City and David (Fabienne) of Gatineau, Quebec; three step-sons: Richard (Trina) Roy of Saint John; Brian Roy of Grand Falls, NF and Allain Roy of Saint John; two step-daughters: Nola (Keith) Comeau of Saint John and Dorothy (Mario) Roy-Nini of Bathurst, NB; one brother Morris of Ontario; two sisters Helen of Windsor, Ontario and Jacqueline of Arnprior, Ontario; eighteen grand-children and one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Therese Gariepy, three brothers John-Paul, Jimmy and Claude, one sister Yvonne and one step-son Gerald Roy. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, January 6, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 7, 2005 from St. Joachim's Church at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at a later date. Remembrances may be made to the NB Lung Association.
