Obituary of Rodney Keith McCumber

McCUMBER, RODNEY K.- The death of Rodney Keith McCumber of Bains Corner, NB, husband of E. Jean (Burchill) McCumber, occurred on Sunday, April 3, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Saint John he was the son of Cora (Whitney) McCumber of St. Martins and the late Arnold “Ginger” McCumber. Rodney was a Licensed Mechanic at Coast Tire in West Saint John for many years. He loved Mechanics, Carpentry, ATV's and anything else that got him dirty. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Dawn and Katherine Ashley, both at home, one brother, Terry McCumber (Bonnie) of Bains Corner, four sisters, Cathy Pridham (Brent) of Bains Corner, Debbie Lavigne (Victor) of St. Martins, Gail Durant (Kendall) of Parsboro, NS and Heather Clayton (Murray) of Bains Corner, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Christine McCumber. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday 7-9 PM. Rodney will then be taken to rest at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, St. Martins with visiting on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, St. Martins on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Mosher Hill Cemetery, St. Martins. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Hospice of Saint John or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated.
