Obituary of Lucille M. Skinner

The death of Lucille Maude (Hodgson) Skinner formerly of Hawthorne Ave, wife of the late Dr. Norman Skinner, occurred on Saturday, July 17, 2004 at the Sussex Health Centre. Born in Montreal she was the daughter of the late Franklyn J. and Maude Hodgson. Lucille came to Saint John in 1937 at the time of her marriage and lived here for many years. She took an active part in the musical life of the city, taught piano, served on committees of the Ladies Morning Musical Club, NB Festival of Music, Community Concert Association and the Art Department of the NB Museum, which presented recitals of young performers of the province about to launch their musical careers. She was a former member of the Eclectic Reading Club, Saint John Theatre Guild, life member and President of the Women's Auxiliary to the Saint John Medical Society. She is survived by sister Claire Jones and sister-in-law Grace Hodgson, brother-in-law Edward Gray all of Montreal, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother Frank Hodgson, sister Gwyneth Gray, brother-in-law Harrison Jones, sister-in-law Rosalie Skinner. By request there will be no funeral service or funeral home visitation. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2004 at 2:00 pm in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donors' choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424).
