Obituary of Harry Olsen

The death of Harry Olsen, husband of Geraldine (Childerhouse) Olsen, of Saint John, NB occurred on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Moncton, NB a son of the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Bishop) Olsen. He was a waiter having been employed with Smitty's Pub and Fish & Brews Pub in the Westwind Mall. Harry was well known for his outgoing and friendly personality and his ability to making people feel special. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Martin (Marjorie) of Quispamsis and Stephen (Marilyn) of Ottawa; two brothers, Alf (Faye) of Philadelphia and Allan (Diane) of Saint John; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Catherine, Timothy and Stephen Olsen, Christine and Lori Hamilton; two great-grandchildren, Connor and Charlotte; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister, Freda Black. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Saturday and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Trinity Church, Rockland Road on Monday, April 11, 2005 at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation, the Canadian Diabetic Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
