Obituary of Helen Vaughan Simson

The death of Helen Vaughan Simson, age 92, of Rothesay, NB, widow of the late Harold D. Simson, occurred on Monday, March 24, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late John Richard and Josephine McFarlane. Helen was a longtime active member of St. David's United Church, Rothesay. Helen was also a charter member of the Saint John Chapter of the I.O.D.E. and a founding member of the Kennebecasis Garden Club. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed her association with her many friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Durdan Simson and her brother and sister-in-law, John Richard and Jean Stetson McFarlane and is survived by sons, Geoffrey of Dallas, Texas, USA, and John of Rothesay; five grandsons, three granddaughters and three nephews. Arrangements are in the care of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with the funeral service to be held on Thursday, March 27, 2003, at 2:00 PM, from St. David's United Church, Rothesay.
