Obituary of Florence Helena Moyen-Settle

The death of Florence Helena “Nene” Moyen-Settle occurred at her residence in Millidgeville surrounded by her loving family. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mertiece (Hamilton) Verner. Nene was a member of St. Pius X church, was a foster parent for many years and also worked in the home care business. She loved to sing and play the accordion, loved cooking for her family, gardening and going camping, and was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Keith S. Settle, one daughter Joanne Mason (Stanley), two step-sons David Settle, NS, Danny Settle (Jennifer), Saint John, NB, six brothers Herman (Marie) Verner, Joseph Verner, John Verner (Margeret), Thomas Verner (Florence), Henry “Harry” Verner and David Verner all of Saint John, NB, four sisters Mertiece Daly (John), Regina Porter (Al), Audrey Hamilton (Dave), Edna Sharkey (Fred), all of Saint John, NB., three grandchildren Marc and Jasmine Moyen and Jenna Mason, four step grandchildren Caleb, Luke, Aaron, and Ryan Settle, two Uncles George and Russell Higgins, many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her first husband Reno Moyen, four brothers Frederick Verner, Benjamin Verner, George Verner, Francis “Mickey” Verner, baby brother Richard, one sister Anne Brown and infant sister Jennie. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, 2-4,7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Church on Monday, November 10, 2003, at 11:00 AM, interment will follow in St Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Cancer Society or donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
