Obituary of Joan Armstrong

The death of Joan Armstrong, wife of Claude V. (Armie) Armstrong, occurred on March 22, 2004, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, on June 23, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (McQuade) Coughlan. She was a Registered Nurse having trained at St. Mary's Hospital, Montreal, PQ. She is survived by her husband Claude 'Armie' Armstrong, her son Peter in Cambridge, ON, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. At the request of Joan, there will be no visiting or flowers. Cremation will take place at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). The memorial service will be celebrated on Thursday, March 25, 2004, at 11:00 AM, from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Veteran's Section. Remembrances made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
