Obituary of Norman Francis Daley

The death of Norman Francis Daley, husband of the late Aileen Gertrude (Smith) Daley, occurred on March 15, 2004, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Wesley and Jennie (Sullivan) Daley. He was a veteran of WW II and was decorated during the war for 'Brave in the Field,' and received the Military Cross. He was employed with Revenue Canada Taxation Department until his retirement. Norman enjoyed life to the fullest spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, golfing, skating, hiking, swimming and summering at his cottage in Fairvale. He was a lifelong resident of the North End of Saint John and attended St. Paul's Anglican Valley Church for many years. He is survived by his daughter Linda and her husband Fred Tippett of Winnipeg, his grandchildren Jason (Amaris), Janet, Christopher, Catherine and Joannah, his great-granddaughter Jessica and several nieces and nephews. His brothers Wesley and Vernon and his sisters Ethel, Helen, Jean, Alice and Marguerite predeceased him. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Tribute to a Veteran Service at 7:30 PM on Thursday. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2004, at 2:15 PM from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, Gideon Bible Plan or the charity of choice would be appreciated.
