Obituary of Raymond Joseph Ketchum
The death of Raymond Joseph “Ray” Ketchum, of 194 Roderick Row, Saint John West, husband of Mary Elizabeth “Betty” (Martin) Ketchum, occurred on Sunday, July 13, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Nauwigewauk, NB, he was the son of the late Harry and Margaret (McLaughlin) Ketchum. Ray was employed with Baxter's Dairies for 41 years before his retirement as Superintendent of the Milk Plant, and was a member of St. Rose Parish. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Donald (Mary Ann) of Saint John, one daughter, Janice Gange (Michael) of Fredericton, one brother, Walter of Hampton, NB, four sisters, Margaret Kelly of Saint John, Eileen Stanton (Esmond) of Virginia, Betty Spear (Charles) of Saint John and Sister Rose Marie Ketchum of Saskatchewan, seven grandchildren, Julie Ann Hamilton (Scott), Adam Ketchum, Alexander Ketchum, Kathryn Ketchum, Thomas Ketchum, Elizabeth Gange and William Gange, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers; George, Leonard and Harry and one sister, Joan. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424), with visiting on Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose Church, on Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
