Obituary of Marie Zelda Young

The death of Mrs. Marie Zelda Young, of Rocmaura Nursing Home, Saint John, wife of the late William M. Young, occurred on Monday, March 17, 2003, at her residence. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born in Cape Egmont, PEI, she was the daughter of the late John B.G. and Bathilde (Poirier) Arsenault. Mrs. Young loved music and played the piano for many functions throughout the city over the years. She was a member of St. Pius X Church, CWL and volunteered with Meals-on-Wheels and the St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by two sons, Robert (Judy) of Ottawa, ON and James (Bonny) of Rothesay, one daughter, Anne Crowley (Joe) of Saint John, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Dorca Arsenault of Saint John and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Edmund, Peter and Joseph and sisters, Bella, Beatrice, Alice and Leona. By request, there will be no visiting at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, on Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at 10:00 AM. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated.
