Obituary of Margaret Fern Barlow

The death of Margaret Fern (Sprague) Barlow of Saint John, NB, beloved wife of Donald Barlow, occurred on Sunday, June 24, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Harvey, Albert Co., NB, a daughter of the late Charles and Hilda (Hayne) Sprague. Margaret loved spending time at the family cottage in Bayswater; enjoyed her Bridge Club, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a long time member of Portland United Church, had been a member of the UCW and was a Junior Choir Mother. She had been employed with Eastern Drug Co. Survived by her husband, Donald; two daughters: Judith (Kevin) Cleary and Elaine (Tony) Salamé, both of Halifax; two sisters: Edythe Kennie of Saint John and Jennie Knowlton of Lower Coverdale, NB; two grandchildren: Callum and Catherine “Kate”; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers: George and an infant, Charles. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from Portland United Church, Newport Cres., Saint John North on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 11 am. A Private Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Hospice Foundation or any charity of one’s choice. A Special thank you to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit and the Oncology Department at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their care and support.
