Obituary of Sylvia Marguerite Button

BUTTON, SYLVIA M.- The death of Sylvia Marguerite Button of Magazine Street, Saint John, wife of Raymond J. Button, occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, February 12, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Myrtle (Sowers) Booker. Sylvia was employed at Sobey’s and Dominion Grocery Stores for many years and later at the Loch Lomond Villa until her retirement. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Deborah Gatien (Stephen) of the Kingston Peninsula, Judy Burgess (Malcolm) of Martinon, Douglas Button (Susan) of Saint John, Sherry Lansdowne (Rick) of Pickering, ON and George Buchanan (Dianne) of Saint John, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mildred Charters and Alice Wade. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at 1:00 PM. Interment will be held at Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
