Obituary of Robert F. Burns

The death of Robert Francis Burns of Saint John, companion of Barbara Dickison, occurred unexpectedly on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Halifax, NS on September 23, 1940, he was the son of the late William and Helen Burns. Mr. Burns was an Accountant working with Brown and Ryan Stevedores in Saint John and Montreal for many years and had also worked at the New Brunswick Museum for several years. Robert was active in the community and volunteered with the North End Little League for many years. Besides his companion, he is survived by one daughter, Lori Dickison (Donnie) of Saint John, one brother, Ron Burns (Judy), one sister, Irene Johnston (Ted), both of Halifax, NS, two grandchildren, Andrew and Brandon, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Brian Wayne Dickison, two brothers, Roy and William and one sister, Winnifred. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
