Obituary of Helen Elizabeth Chamberlain

It is with great sadness that family and friends learned of the passing of Helen Elizabeth (Yeoman) Chamberlain of 74 Wilton St., Saint John, NB on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at the Rocmaura Nursing Home. Helen was born in Saint John on May 11, 1927 a daughter of the late Susan Myrtle (nee Nichols) and Charles William Yeoman. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joe; a son, Brian and his wife, Brenda of Nauwigewauk, NB; two daughters: Ann and her husband, Fred McKinney and Bonnie and her husband, Greg Hourihan, all of Passekeag, NB; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by brothers, Charles and Austin; sister, Dorothy; an infant son; and two grandsons, Dana Chamberlain and A.J. Hourihan. Prior to her marriage she worked for a brief time at Red Rose Tea. Helen was well known for her talent for knitting and had knit for Davidson’s Wool Shop. She enjoyed working with the Brownies and was a Brown Owl for thirty years. She also enjoyed being on the Thursday Morning Ladies Bowling League Team. She will be sadly missed by her family and close friends and those she knew. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 2:15 pm. Interment will be in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Rocmaura Foundation, the A.J. Hourihan Scholarship Fund or any charity of choice.
