Obituary of Lloyd Murray Wallace

Surrounded by his loving family, Lloyd Wallace, husband of Carmel (Sullivan), occurred at his residence in West Saint John, on April 26, 2007. Born in Devon, NB on September 5, 1927 to the late Gordon and Annie Marie (Wood) Wallace. Lloyd spent 25 years with the Royal Canadian Navy serving in World War II. Retiring from the navy, he worked for Saint John Ship Building for the next 23 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69 and the Main Brace Club. Lloyd loved to watch TV, westerns and mysteries were his favorites. He also enjoyed long car trips with Carmel. Besides his wife, Lloyd is survived by one son Michael (Lynn) of Darlings Island, NB; one daughter Rebecca (Andrew) Butler of Halifax, NS; one brother David (Trudell) of Germany; four grandchildren, Brent (Taya) and Andrew Wallace, Kristina and Andrew Butler and two great grandchildren Ian and William Wallace. He was predeceased by his parents, one son Thomas and one brother Stirling. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). At Lloyd’s request there will be no visitation, there will be a memorial mass at St. Pius X Parish on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 10 am. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances may be made to the Extra-Mural Program Foundation. The family would like to thank the Extra-Mural Staff and Doctors Michael Simon and Sean Dolan for professional care during Lloyd’s illness.
