Obituary of Margaret May Turnbull

Margaret May (McLean) Turnbull December 18, 1926 - April 26, 2009 Passed away at her home “Driftwood” in Red Head after a brief illness. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Senator A. Neil McLean and Margaret May McLean. Survived by her husband James H. Turnbull, Sr.; son James H. Turnbull Jr. and wife Ellen (Barry) of Millidgeville; daughter Heather F. Turnbull and husband Glenn Olver (Toronto); foster daughter Doris Pico (Portland, Oregon); grandchildren Alexandra, Emily, and James; brother J. Dougall McLean (Barrie, Ontario), and sister Sandra Carroll (Frank) of Palm Coast, Florida; niece F. Jane Larlee Addison and grand niece Michelle Addison Watson (Vancouver, BC); numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and lifelong friend Frances (Welch) Puffer (Toronto). Predeceased by sister Frances J. Larlee and brother-in-law Darrell Larlee of Campbellton, N.B. Margaret was passionate about the environment and maintained a lifelong interest in animals, especially horses. She served as a director on the Boards of the Turnbull Home as well as the South End Day Care Centre, and was an avid supporter of the New Brunswick SPCA and the Conservation Council of New Brunswick. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506)634-7424. At her specific request a private family service is being held, with no visitation.
