Obituary of Dorothy M. Legere

The death of Dorothy M. (Rowley) Legere, wife of the late Raymond Legere, occurred at the Kingsway Care Centre on Monday, May 4, 2009. Born in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of the late John and Viola (Stirling) Rowley. Dorothy was employed for many years at Woolworth’s as a store clerk. She was involved with the Kingston Church A.C.W. and Friendship Group and was also involved with the Peninsula Pearls Seniors Group. She fostered many children and also enjoyed knitting for the children in Kingston at MCS. Survived by her two daughters, Sandra Lowe (David) of Saint John, NB and Glenda Clark of Kingston, NB; brother-in-law, Jack Dunaway of Portsmouth, NH; five grandchildren, Randy (Nancy), Scott (Tammy), Shelly (Ron), Heather (Bob) and Michael (Amanda), nine great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor Henderson. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday from 2–4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 11:30 am from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Anglican Parish of Kingston, Kingston Parish Hall Mission Fund or to the Zachary White Foundation.
