Obituary of Karla Dawn Melvin

The passing of Karla Melvin, of Sackville, NS happened accidentally on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 in Halifax, NS. She was born in Saint John, NB on October 17, 1985 to Peter Brewing (his wife Andrea) and Kerry Brewing (Jimmy Patchell). Karla was a graduate of Simonds High School and was working at the Parkstone Enhanced Care Nursing Home in Halifax, NS. She is survived by her loving husband Kevin Melvin and their son, Karter Melvin of Sackville, NS; stepson, Caleb Sorckoff of Saint John, NB; two sisters: Tara Martin (Tony) and Candace Lawrence (Marcus) both of Saint John, NB; parents in-law, Kevin and Debbie Melvin of Saint John, NB; sister in-law, Ashley Melvin of Halifax, NS; maternal grandmother, Bernice Sorckoff; six nieces: Ashley, Traycia, Amber, Mia, Athena and Jailyn and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Karla was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Frank Sorckoff and paternal grandparents, George and Stella Brewing. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, September 1, 2008 at 1 pm. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
