Obituary of Elivina Mary Leonard

The death of Elivina "Vina" M. Leonard of Saint John, NB wife of the late Richard Leonard, occurred on September 17, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Miscou, NB, she was a daughter of the late Alex and Flora (Sivret) Lecouteur. Vina moved to Saint John in 1947 at the age of thirteen. She had a love for walking at the Irving Nature Park and spending time with her friends at Rhoda's Flea Market. Survived by her sons; Daniel (Lynn) of Port aux Basque, NL, and Paul (Donna) of Hampton, NB; her much loved grandchildren, Andrew, Jennifer, Michelle and Lisa; brothers, Simon (Margaret) Lecouteur and Philip Lecouteur, both of Montreal, QC; brother-in-law, Louis (Theresa) Leonard of Saint John; as well as several nieces and nephews and special friend, Clarence Bastrache. Vina was predeceased by her loving and forever missed husband, Richard of 42 years; three sisters, Frenande Bizeau, Rita and Florence Lecouteur. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John 634-7424, with visiting on Friday, September 25, 2009 from 7 - 9 pm. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 10:00 am from Brenan's Chapel. Interment to take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
