Obituary of Keith Stanley Settle

The Settle family is saddened to announce the death of Keith Stanley Settle, which occurred on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia on November 2, 1930, he was a son of the late David and Ada (Nelson) Settle. Keith married Gladys June Bailey of Dartmouth and had four children, Kathy, David, Daniel, and Christopher. He worked for many years at the Irving Oil Refinery in Saint John where he raised his family. For many years, Keith resided in the village of Quispamsis, becoming the first mayor. He later moved to Calgary where he worked until his retirement. After the death of his wife Gladys, Keith moved to Springfield, NS, later returning to Saint John where he married Florence (Nene) Moyen. After many years of struggling with Multiple Sclerosis, he is now at rest. Keith is survived by two sons and four grandsons: David Raymond Settle (Debbie) of Chance Harbour, NS, and their sons Ryan and Aaron, and Daniel Keith Settle (Jennifer) of Saint John, and their sons Luke and Caleb. Keith is also survived by sisters Verna Ingraham (Aubrey) of Middleton, NS, and Lorna Davidson (Laurie) of Dartmouth, NS; a brother, Earle Settle (Mona) of Terrance Bay, NS, and well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers David and Lloyd; his sister, Lois, as well as his wife Gladys, his wife Florence, his daughter Kathy, and his son, Christopher. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place in Nova Scotia at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated by the family.
