Obituary of Alfred Edmund Shuve

Shuve, Alfred Edmund (Barney), loving husband of Ruby (McKay) Shuve, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members, on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Drummond Hall, NS, where he had recently moved from Chateau de Champlain, Saint John, NB. Born in Saint John on April 8,1917 he was the eldest son of John and Margaret (Moore) Shuve. He will be greatly missed by Ruby, his wife of 67 years, his daughters Lynn Pearce (Larry) of Calgary, AB and Nancy Ohsberg (Robert) of Sackville, NS and his five grandchildren Stephen Pearce (Jill) of Calgary,AB, Erika Pearce (Brad) of Summerside, PEI, Karissa Pilkington (Steve) of Calgary, AB, Ian Ohsberg and Victoria Ohsberg of Sackville, NS; four great grandchildren, brothers Edward “Ted” and Ainslie Shuve as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Evelyn Kyle, Anna Shuve, Jean Cooke, Hilda Holyoke and Kathleen Buckland and brothers, Walter and John (Jack) Alfred’s life and sense of humour touched many people as a respected pharmacist in Saint John, as owner of East Saint John Pharmacy, as a dedicated member of Tabernacle United Baptist Church and as an uncle and family man. He was always most content at the “Camp” in Loch Lomond where extended family and friends visited often. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506.634.7424), where visitation will be held on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 3 at 11:30 AM from the funeral home chapel with Rev.
