Obituary of Theodore Alonzo Sabean

Surrounded by his family, the passing of Ted Sabean, husband of Winnie (Morehouse) Sabean occurred on Saturday, October 03, 2009 at the Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing. He was born on June 17, 1925 at Saint John, NB to the late Ralph and Mary Dobson. Ted served his country overseas in World War II; in Italy, England, and Germany. He was part of the Carlton York and West Novies Regiments in the Royal Canadian Army. He worked for the City of Saint John for over 40 years. He was a member of CUPE local #18 and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #53 Jervis Bay. Besides his wife of over 65 years, Winnie, Ted is survived by four sons: Patrick, Wayne (Linda), Leonard (Marsha Ellis) and Gary (Wanda) all of Saint John, NB; one daughter, Heather Watson (Brien) of Saint John; special son, Petridis “Pat” of Edmonton, AB; three brothers: Eddie Dobson, Ralph Arthurs and Jack Davidson; one sister: Dee Dee Donavon; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His parents and daughter, Linda Sabean predeceased him. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 1 pm. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will be held on Monday at 7:45 pm, during visiting. For those who wish, remembrances to the Lung Association, Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
