Obituary of Marjorie Hazel Garnett

Marjorie Hazel (Beckwith) Garnett died on December 3, 2009 at York Manor in Fredericton. She was born in Saint John on December 1, 1920, the second child of the late Arthur and Gladys (McCluskey) Beckwith. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Holly Garnett (Red) in 1985 and her son, Wayne Jeffrey in 1972; she was also predeceased by three brothers, Paul in infancy, Arthur (1981), John (Theresa) 2002; two sisters, Pauline Lavallee (2000), Lillian Beckwith (2007); two nephews, Grant Beyea (1997) and Bert Farnham (1999); and one niece, Donna Farnham (2006). She is survived by two daughters, Joanne Moroney (Paul) of Peabody, Mass., Justice Paulette Garnett of Fredericton and one son, Robert Garnett (June Stephenson) of Saint John. She is survived also by four sisters; Judy Cashol (the late Greg) of Dickie Mountain, N.B., Dorothy Beyea (John) of Quispamsis, Gladys Farnham (Douglas) of Upper Golden Grove and Lorraine Gray (Fred) of Saint John; two brothers, Edward (Beatrice) of Hammond River and David (Norma) of Nauwigewauk; her sister-in-law Marguerite (Garnett) Walsh of Ottawa, six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Marj loved small children, Christmas, picnics, dancing, shopping with her sisters and any gathering of the Beckwiths. Her family was the centre of her life and Lil was her best friend. They both had long and happy lives for which we are grateful. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, (506) 634-7424. Visiting will take place Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Donations may be made to the Saint John Animal Rescue League, the Fredericton SPCA, or any charity of the donor’s choice.
