Obituary of Renee W. Melanson

The death of Renee W. (Hughes) Melanson, of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Arthur Melanson, occurred on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Kennebec Manor. Born in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Cunningham) Hughes. Renee was employed with Cowie and Sons Jewelers for 25 years until her retirement. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Patrick) O’Leary of Riverview, NB, and Ellen (John) Logan of Saint John; daughter-in-law, Carole Blois; special nephew, Clarence (Carol) Blois; two step-children, Madeline (Peter) Paulin, Arthur Melanson; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by two sons, Kenneth and Kitchener, one brother, Douglas Hughes and her first husband Kitchener Blois. The family would like to recognize the exceptional care provided by the staff of Kennebec Manor. Resting at St. John Baptist and St. Clements (Mission Church) 819 Millidge Avenue, Saint John, with visiting on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 from 4-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from the church at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. Remembrances may be made to St. John Baptist and St. Clements (Mission Church) or the Canadian Down Syndrome Society.
