Obituary of Mae G. Wood

The death of Mae Gordon Wood of Saint John, wife of the late William M. Wood, occurred on Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Kennebec Manor. Born in Moncton, NB on November 6, 1913, she was a daughter of the late John and Gennette (MacDonald) Mellish. Mae enjoyed knitting, playing Bingo and cards. Survived by her children, Eleanor Ferris of Saint John, NB, Joyce Staubi of Moncton, Jacqueleen Martin (Medley) of Summerville, NB and William Wood (Sandra) of Clifton Royal, NB; sixteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mae was predeceased by her sister, Victoria Lower and her brothers, George, Elmer, Charlie and John. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment to take place at Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
