Obituary of Edward Byron Richard

The unexpected death of Edward Richard husband of Constance “Connie” (Keleher) Richard occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, October 12, 2009. He was born on November 21, 1941 at Newcastle to the late Edward and Kathlyn (Dalton) Richard. Ed worked for Ralph’s Action Center, was manager of Brett’s Automotive Department and Modern Truck and Machinery, retiring in 1999. He loved to travel, read, computers but most of all he loved his family and animals. Besides his wife Connie, Ed is survived by a son, Edward “Timmy” Richard (Nicki) of Red Deer, AB; daughter, Tricia Kirven (Tim Aubuchon) of Plano, TX; brother, Steve Richard (Barb) of Halifax, NS; three sisters: Karen MacDonald (Dean) of Public Landing, Donna Holland (Phil) of Woodman’s Point and Wendy Chamberlain (Derek) of Greenwich Hill; granddaughter, Aradia; three grandsons: Robert, Kennedy and Danny and several brothers in-law, sisters in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. At Ed’s request there will be no traditional visitation or funeral service. Although Connie and family will receive family and friends at Brenan’s Reception Centre on Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 2 - 4 pm in a non-formal setting. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish to make remembrances of Ed to the Animal Rescue League would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
