Obituary of Mary Clark Sancton

Mary Clark Sancton of Saint John, wife of the late Clifford Harding Sancton, passed away on Monday, December 07, 2009 at her residence. Born in Saint John West, she was a daughter of the late Alfred H. and Lyda M. (Schofield) Clark. She was a long time resident of Saint John and Westfield Beach, and was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, the Lady Moyra Chapter of the IODE, St. Andrew’s Curling Club, the Westfield Golf and Country Club, the Union Club, the Lady’s Auxiliary of the YM-YWCA, and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Mary is survived by her children, N. Clark Sancton (Jennifer) of Rothesay, M. Jill Buckley (John O.) of Sussex, and G. Thomas Sancton (Linda) of Dartmouth; two sisters-in-law, Frances Clark and June Clark, both of Saint John; grandchildren Andrew Sancton (Heidi), Matthew Sancton (Stephanie), Heather DeBlois (David), Alison Buckley (Stewart Robinson), Sean Buckley (Lee), Ian Buckley (Sarah), Scott Sancton (Chrissy Bajear), Keith Sancton (Monique), and Alexander Sancton (Katie Dudley); great grandchildren Abby Sancton, Molly Sancton, Henry DeBlois, Piper Buckley, Sadie Buckley, and Madison Sancton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Mary was predeceased by three brothers, Surg. Lieut. Comdr. Albert W. Clark, DSC, RCNVR, George T. Clark, QC, and Dr. Stephen D. Clark; a sister, Betty MacFarlane; and a daughter-in-law, Karen Sancton. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 4 … 7 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the Church of the Good Shepherd, Manawagonish Road, Saint John West. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Church of the Good Shepherd or any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
