Obituary of Esther Isabelle Fergus

After a long and fulfilling life the death of Esther Fergus, wife of the late Andrew Fergus occurred at the Kennebec Manor on Saturday, July 20, 2013. She was born on May 13, 1913 in Saint John to the late Frank and Augusta (McNeil) Moore. Esther was a spirited person starting out very young and getting involved with the business world. She was a huge help to her parents aiding with nurturing her younger siblings, when ever help was needed she could be counted on. Her goal in the last few years was to reach 100 years of age which she did proudly this May. Esther has left many fond memories, for those fortunate enough to have known her. She is survived by the last of her 16 siblings, Christine Hartford of Saint John; grandson, Robert Fergus of Saint John; great-grandchildren: Robert Fergus and Judy Nickerson; numerous great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Esther was predeceased by her husband; parents; 15 siblings; son, Hugh Robert Fergus and step-son, Andrew Fergus. The family would like to thanks the doctors and staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Kennebec Manor for their kindness and support during Esther’s stay with them. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Wednesday, July 24 at 12 noon. Interment will take place in St. Thomas Cemetery, Black River. For those who wish remembrances to St. Thomas' Anglican Church, Black River would be appreciated by the family. "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth."
