Obituary of Florence H. Stewart

Florence Stewart, wife of Douglas G. Stewart, passed away on October 31, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Saint John on January 21, 1927, she was a daughter of the late George and Alice (Grondine) Wheaton. She worked at Simms brush factory, where she met her future husband, after throwing a bucket of water at him. They would later marry, and spend sixty five years together. Dedicated to her family, Florence enjoyed crafts, puzzles, reading, music, and spending time with her family. Florence is survived by her sons Brian (Jane), Brad (Carol), Rodney, daughter Lynn Hellier (Tony Dincorn), sister Lillian Harrison, ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, as well as her dog Rocky, and her cat, Cuddles. In addition to her parents, Florence was pre-deceased by her brothers Alan and Ron. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 12:00 Noon from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.
