Obituary of Graydon Clarence Dixon

The death of Graydon "Greg" Dixon of Maces Bay, beloved husband of Nancy (Janes) Dixon occurred on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on December 5, 1951, he was the son of the late Clarence and Freda (Mulherin) Dixon. Prior to his retirement, Greg was employed for 35 years at Irving Pulp and Paper. However, his true passion in life was firefighting and for 26 years he served his community as a volunteer firefighter with the Musquash Fire Department. He also enjoyed curling and was a member of the Carleton Curling Club. Greg always loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling and camping. He will be lovingly missed. In addition to his wife, Greg is also survived by his daughters, Vanessa Dixon (Evelly Brake), Kendra Dixon (Matthew Vautour) and Amber Dixon, all of Maces Bay; brother, Robert Dixon (Brenda) of Saint John; sisters, Judy Paulin (Danny) and Lois Dixon, all of Saint John; precious grandchildren, Michelle and Keegan; mother-in-law, Grace Janes of Saint John; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Reginald Janes and sister-in-law, Linda Gilmore. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, April 17 and Friday, April 18 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Maces Bay Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Liver Foundation.
