Obituary of Constance May Barrett

Barrett, Constance Constance (Connie) May Barrett was peacefully swept into her new eternal home on January 29, 2015 Her passing took place at the Loch Lomond Village surrounded by her loving family and close friends. Connie was born on May 1, 1929 in Saint John to parents Eugene and Florence (Mann) Gilliland and became little sister to Frederick and Eugene and big sister To Shirley (Dennison) all predeceased. Connie lived a very fulfilled life marrying her childhood sweetheart Kenneth (Butch) Barrett and were lifetime residents of Saint John living in their family home on Margaret Street for over 40 years. Connie was the mother of four children, Frederick, Steven, Gary and Cathy whom she loved unconditionally and nurture them into adulthood and boasted that they were her greatest accomplishments. Connie was committed to a very healthy lifestyle and was an active member of the YMCA for 25 years and maintained a regime of jogging and brisk walks well up until her 80th year. In her 5 foot frame she proved to be a task to be reckoned with when it came to her bowling skills and filling the shelves with the many trophies she won as high bowler for her Glenview United Bowling League. She reigned as one of the matriarchs of Wally’s Trailer Park in Cambridge and spent some of her happiest time with family and her 9 wonderful grandchildren. Nanny made sure that each one of them had a week with her and Papa and built priceless family memories. Connie and Ken were well travelled and enjoyed several trips to Hawaii and eventually purchasing their trailer in Port Richey Florida to escape the cold winters and enjoy community living with family and close friends. Connie was a faithful member of Calvary Temple for many years imparting to her children a strong faith to build their lives upon which she emulated to all those who knew her. The Barrett Boys would like to express heartfelt appreciation to Velma White, mother’s Guardian angel and the staff at the Loch Lomond villa for the love and kindness demonstrated towards her. Words can never express how much it is appreciated.
