Obituary of John David Dunlap

Following a brave and valiant battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that the family of John David Dunlap, loving husband and best friend of 46 years to Marie (Johansson) Dunlap announce his passing at the SJRH on Saturday March 15, 2014. John was born in Saint John, NB on March 7, 1944 to the late John and Awilliah (Moore) Dunlap. He worked at Saint John Shipbuilding for over 30 years until his retirement. John was a kind and gentle man who loved life and believed everyday was a blessing. Besides his wife he is survived by two children Cheryl LeBlanc and Kevin Dunlap, his sisters Ann Callum, Judy (Leonard) Hachez and Pam Boone, uncle Glendon Flowers, several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his two precious grandchildren which were the love of his life Kaitlyn and Matthew LeBlanc. Besides his parents John was predeceased by his son-in-law Paul LeBlanc in 2012. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 369 Main Street, Saint John on Thursday March 20, 2014, at 2:00 PM. Donations to the charity of choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
