Obituary of Kenneth Edward Kingston

Kenneth Edward Kingston, Saint John, NB, husband of the late Constance (Smith) Kingston, passed away on December 29, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born April 11, 1925, Ken was the second oldest of eleven children of Alexia (Carter) and Harry Kingston. He is survived by daughters Jane Murray (Raymond) and Ann Jeffrey (Ed), and much loved grandsons Rob Jeffrey (Robyn) and Neil Jeffrey (Erin). He is also survived by his brother Walter (Marjorie); sisters Nancy Evans (Leon) and Cynthia MacFarlane (Norman), brother-in-law Ray Titus, sisters-in-law Lois Kingston and Faith Kingston, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by brothers John, Malcolm and Reginald; sisters Elsie Kingston, Phyllis Kane (Buzzy), Jean Titus and Helen Turner (Wilfred). A lifelong resident of Saint John, Ken worked for the CNR for over 48 years, retiring at 65. An avid walker, he was a past member of Carleton Curling Club, and volunteer with Meals On Wheels. Dad loved and supported his family all his life. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 11 am in Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Donations in Dad’s name may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, the Salvation Army or a charity of the donor’s choice.
