Obituary of Frances Elizabeth Flemington

Frances Elizabeth (Strange) Flemington died peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 96 years of age, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Frances was born and grew up in St Stephen N.B. and attended Mount Allison Ladies College. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank P. Flemington, and after their marriage in St. Stephen in 1939, they settled in Toronto. Frances and Frank returned to New Brunswick (Fredericton) following Frank’s retirement from The Ryerson Press in 1976. Frances was an accomplished pianist, a generous volunteer, an active church member and an inveterate swimmer. She was the great-granddaughter of St. Stephen cabinet-maker John Warren Moore and donated a large, well-documented collection of his furniture to King’s Landing. Frances was dearly loved by daughters Anne, Mary and Sue and their families, including grandchildren Allyson, Andrea and Duncan, Michael, Christine and Beth and 15 great-grandchildren. Also lovingly remembered by nieces Pat (Flemington Wallace), Shirley (Flemington Tait) and Sally (Flemington Ambrose), and nephews Kent, Peter and Dave Flemington, and Allen Strange Parker, son of her late sister Harriet. The family extends sincere thanks to all the caring staff at Rocmaura Nursing Home in Saint John, home to Frances for the last 11years of her life. Funeral arrangements are under the care ofBrenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A graveside service will be held in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery at a later date.
