Obituary of Winifred A. Hanson

With her family at her side the death of Winnie Hanson, wife of the late LeRoy Hanson occurred at the Loch Lomond Village on Sunday, April 20, 2014. She was born on March 1, 1920 in Stratford, England to the late Henry and Emily (Ryder) Brinkman. Winnie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she devoted her life to her family. She was a long time member of the New Brunswick War Brides Association. Winnie is survived by her children: Raymond (Maureen) of Grand Forks, BC and David (Lucille) of Quispamsis; sister Rose Callegari (Bill) of Kent, UK; grandchildren: Tim (Allison), Tyler (Tabitha), Patrick and Darrell (Sonia); great-grandchildren: Leif, Oscar, Mathieu and Jacob; nieces: Carole Keating, Lynne Callegari and Anne Wood; nephew, Clive Godfrey and a special cousin, Sadie Bartlett; step-grandchildren: Suanne, Randy, Todd(Marie), Lisa(Peter); step-great grandchildren: Joshua, Jailyn, Breanna, Mitchell and Aliyah. Winnie was predeceased by her husband, parents; sister Gladys (Ivor) Godfrey, brother-in-law Bill Callegari and nephew Peter Godfrey. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) for one day May 5, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home on May 6, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Sunnybank Cemetery in Fredericton.
