Obituary of Lorette Marie Ahern

The death of Lorette (LeBlanc) Ahern, formerly from Rothesay and spouse of the late Charles "Chick" Ahern, occurred on Sunday, July 20th at the Embassy Hall, Quispamsis. Lorette was born in Saint-Paul, Kent County on November 21st 1933. She was a daughter of the late Pierre and Léona (Doucet) LeBlanc. Lorette was a retired school teacher. She taught at different schools in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Ontario for over 35 years. She last taught at St. Peter School in the North End of Saint John. She was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed working in her flower garden. She and Chick loved to entertain and also travel but she mostly enjoyed the quiet times with Chick and family members. She is survived by three sisters, Hélène (late Roy) Cormier from Toronto; Noëlla (late Léo-Paul) from the Villages, Florida; and by Marie (Conrad) Cormier from Dieppe and by one brother Ernest (Edith) from Saint-Paul and by one cousin Helen Henderson from Fitchburg, MA, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Florence (late Alyre) LeBlanc, Louise (late Albert) Roy, Rita (late Dominique) Léger and Sister Éveline LeBlanc, ndsc and also by three brothers, Eric LeBlanc, George (Aurore) LeBlanc and John (late Mary). Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). By request there will be no visiting at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 31 Gondola Point Road, Rothesay on Thursday, July 24th at 11:00 am with Father Michael LeBlanc officiating. Interment will take place at Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery in Dieppe, NB at a later date. Remembrances made to the Parkinson Society, or charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
