Obituary of Enid Helen Potts

Enid Helen Potts of Grand Bay-Westfield, wife of Thomas E. Potts, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Bobby’s Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. Born at Winnipeg, MB on August 14, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Gorell Charles and Georgina May (Fry) Slack. Enid was educated at the Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute in Winnipeg, and retired as the Administrative Secretary to the Dean of Arts of the University of New Brunswick, Saint John Campus. Enid was a member of several Saint John area choral groups, including the Saint John Choral Society, Camerate, Saint John Chorale, and the Saint John Symphony Chorus. A faithful member of the Church of the Resurrection, Enid served on the Altar Guild, sang in the Church Choir, and attended the Tuesday Afternoon Bible Study. In addition to her husband of 57 years, Enid is survived by her children, Linda D. Curtis (Bill) of Lewiston, New York, and Catherine E. Potts (Brenda Hay) of Kanata, ON; her daughter-in-law, Jessica Potts of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; grandchildren Alec Curtis, Lara Curtis, and Nadia Potts; a brother, Allan G. Slack (Gail) of Okotoks, AB; a sister-in-law, Donna Slack of Swan River, MB; and several nieces and nephews. Enid was predeceased by her son, Dr. Jeffrey T. Potts; and by a brother, Donald C. Slack. Although there will be no visitation time, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM from the Church of the Resurrection, 20 Macdonald Avenue, Grand Bay-Westfield. Interment will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Woodman’s Point. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
