Obituary of Mary Theresa McCanse

The death of Theresa McCanse of Saint John, beloved wife of nearly 60 years to Bruce McCanse occurred on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on May 20, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Viola (Rogers) Lynch. Early in her working career, Theresa was an employee of NBTel, and then on moving to Ottawa, she worked until her time of retirement with the Ottawa School Board. Theresa was an honourary life member of Bobby’s Hospice; as well as a faithful member of the Legion of Mary. In addition to her husband, Theresa is also survived by her son, James McCanse (Vicki) of Middle Sackville, NS; brother, William "Pat" Lynch of Saint John; nieces, Cindy Hall (Jamie) and Crystal Hutchings (Paul) all of Saint John; nephew, Scott Lynch (Eliete) of Vancouver, BC; as well as grand-nieces and many cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Lou Lynch and brother, Charles Edward "Mike" Lynch. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 3:00 - 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street, Saint John on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at 12:10 PM.
