Obituary of Phyllis Ida Ramsay

The death of Phyllis Ramsay of Rocmaura Nursing Home and formerly of Renforth, wife of the late Donald Ramsay occurred on Friday, June 6, 2014, at her residence. Born in Saint John on October 8, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ethel (Kirkpatrick) Izzard. Phyllis dedicated her life to taking care of her family’s needs and always treasured the times spent with those she loved. She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Phyllis always enjoyed her winters spent in Florida and held a special place in her heart for all animals. Phyllis is survived by her children, Ernest Ramsay (Cheryl) of Springfield, Judy Meagher (John) of Kingston and Gary Ramsay (Christina) of Browns Flat; eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her infant brother, Allen. Although there will be no visitation, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Monday, June 9, 2014, at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the IWK.
