Obituary of Ronald R. Zed

Mr. Ronald Zed of Saint John passed away peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice on May 29, 2015, at the age of 94. Ronnie was born on June 21, 1920, the son of the late Leesha H. Zed and Josephine (Simon) Zed. Ronnie is survived by his devoted wife of 72 years, Sadie Zed; daughter-in-law, Priscilla Zed; sister, Eileen Younis of Boston and three grandchildren, Peter (Stacey) of Vancouver, Derek (Debbie) of Greenwich, NB and Joanne Zed-Murphy (Carl) of Halifax. Ronnie was also "Great Giddy" to four great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly and they loved him, Alexandra and Isaac Zed and Ryan and Jillian Murphy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his only son, Ronald R. Zed Jr. in 1995; brothers, Dr. Velmore Zed and Dr. Leesha Zed as well as sisters, Annette Tibbet and Virginia Zed. Ronnie was a determined and witty man which served him well in his life. Rest in peace Ronnie. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Church, 316 Somerset Street, Saint John on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Bobby’s Hospice, Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of the donor’s choice.
