Obituary of Maria Markides

Our cherished Maria passed peacefully into God's loving arms, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, November 23, 2014. Maria was the devoted daughter of Sofia Markides and the loving sister of Katie (David), Efsevia (Dale), John (Phillip), Jimmy, and Toulla. She was the devoted mother of Isaak and John, the loves of her life, and the doting, fun-loving "Thia" to Adam, Amir, Alexa, Aden, and Stephanie. Maria will be greatly missed by her "special sister" Sharon, her children's father Nick as well as his brother Peter (Linda) and their parents, Nikki and Isaak. Left to also mourn her passing are many aunts, uncles, and cousins in North America and Greece. She was predeceased by her father John, his twin Tasos, their brother Steve as well as her aunt Kalomira. Visitation will take place on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row. Due to family allergies, no scents please. A private family service will take place later. Remembrances and donations may be made to the SPCA in Maria's memory.
