Obituary of Alice Joyce Feltus

The peaceful passing of Alice Feltus, beloved wife for sixty-five years of Frederick R. "Ted" Feltus occurred on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Kennebec Manor. Born in Picadilly on April 14, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Albert L. and Laura M. (Carleton) MacKenzie. After graduation from Saint John High School, Alice was employed with CN Telegraph during the war years. She then went on to devote her life to taking care of her family’s needs. Alice was a woman of great faith and in her younger years enjoyed teaching Sunday School. Most of all, she treasured the times spent with those she loved and will always be remembered as a gentle and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. In addition to her husband, Alice is also survived by her children, Robert Feltus (Judith) of Sussex, Paul Feltus of Saint John, Nancy Doiron (Christopher) of Ottawa and John Feltus of Browns Flat; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Reta and Eva; as well as brothers, Stanley, Donald and Freeman. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 1, 2014, at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to The Salvation Army.
