Obituary of June Elaine Hamilton

With heavy hearts the family of, June Elaine Hamilton, announces her passing, on February 13, 2014 at Saint John Regional Hospital. She was surrounded by her family as she went to be with her Lord. Born on May 31, 1928 in Portland, Maine she was a daughter of the late Leslie and Gladys (Jones) Tufts. June was a member of Portland United Church and the UCW. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She volunteered with the Cradle Roll and worked with The Observer. She was very proud when she became a Canadian citizen. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Murray; daughters, Beth (Glenn) Curtis, Kingston Peninsula; Susan Nickerson, Quispamsis; Gail (Kirk Lockhart) Hamilton Saint John; grandchildren, Samantha, Jason, Angela and Shannon; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Dawn Marie (Ray) Brown, ON; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Valerie Hamilton and great grandson, Tristan Higgins. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will be celebrated from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, February 17, 2014, at 12:00 Noon. The interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to I.W.K. Heath Center would be appreciated by the family.
