Obituary of Dorothy Patricia Fudge

It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Dorothy Fudge, formerly of Saint John, at the Sussex Health Centre on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. Dorothy was born March 14, 1918 in Hillsdale, NB, to the late James and Mary (Farren) McMackin and was the wife of the late Russell Fudge. Dorothy worked for the federal government in the accounting department. She was very smart with figures and felt very strong about education and often said nobody should pass up a chance of going to university or college. She was very young at heart and loved having conversations in which the listener often forgot they were listening to someone ninety-five giving such great advice. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her immediate family and leaves her daughter Sandra and her husband Gus Bonnycastle of Rothesay and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Russell, her son Mark at the age of nine also her brothers Jim, Joe, Pat, Tom and Mike and her sisters Miriam Monahan, Margaret Sherwood, Ann Russo and Betty Hodges. At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Friday, January 24, 2014, at 2:30 PM. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Kiwanis Nursing Home or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
