Obituary of Stewart Irvine Trentowsky

Stewart Trentowsky peacefully passed away at Ridgewood Veterans Wing with his loving family at his side on April 10, 2015. Born February 27, 1932, he was a son of the late Stewart and Gertrude (Allan) Trentowsky. Stewart was married to Patricia (Driscoll) for nearly 57 years, and will be missed by her and their children and familes: Doug and Brenda (Tabor), Kenny and Lynn (MacNeil), David, Heather, Jamie and Tara (Holm-Andersen), Colleen and partner John Carter; grandchildren: Kenneth, Kara, Jillian, Jessica, Paige, Ryan, Dawson, Landon; great-grandchild, Ava Lynn; also his sister, MaryAnn and sister-in-law, Charlotte and their families. He was predeceased by sisters, Margaret and Joan; and brother, George. Stewart was a member of Trinity Church for over 60 years, serving on the Building Committee for 15 years, the Vestry for 12 years, and as a Church Warden. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and served with the Royal Canadian Navy for 15 years. He was a proud member of the Brunswicker Association as Chief Petty Officer and the Veterans Committee. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. Stewart retired from the Saint John Fire Department in 1994 after 34 years of service, retiring as a District Chief. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm and Monday, April 13, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A Tribute to a Veteran Service will be held on Sunday at 6 pm, and a Masonic Lodge Service will be held by The New Brunswick Lodge #22 on Monday at 6 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 1 pm at Trinity Anglican Church, 115 Charlotte Street, Saint John. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
