Obituary of Roy A. Gallop

It is with a very heavy heart, the daughter of Roy Gallop announces his passing, which occurred on June 2, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his beloved daughter and best family friend by his side. Born in Saint John on August 14, 1930, he was a son of the late J. Harold and Lillie (Fisher) Gallop. Roy was a graduate of Saint John Vocational School in 1949 and worked for CN for 35 years, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed working in his garden, renovating his house and spending time in his new garage. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, going for walks in the woods, and boating with his friends. Roy was a regular at community meetings and CN pensioners meetings. Roy married his late wife, Anne on May 26, 1951 in London Ontario. They enjoyed 63 years together before her passing on August 1, 2014. He will be missed by his daughter, Pamela; his brother, Robert (Joan); as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and his parents, Roy was predeceased by a brother, Daryl. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Saturday and Sunday, June 6 and 7, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at Lorneville Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or NB Lung Association would be appreciated. Flowers are welcome.
