Obituary of Jacqueline Rolande Garnett

The death of Jacqueline Garnett of Saint John, wife of the late Eugene Garnett occurred on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Kennebec Manor. Born on July 10, 1925 in Buckingham, QC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lorina (Goulet) Lecompté. Jackie was proud of her service time during WWII. She owned and operated Jackie’s Fish and Chips on Main Street and had worked as a ward secretary at the SJRH for several years before retiring at the age of 72. Jackie always held a special place in her heart for all animals and loved to travel. Jackie is survived by her children, Beth Garnett of Saint John, Laurina "Lourie" Garnett (Andrea) of Saint John and Rowan Garnett (Nancy) of Moncton; siblings, Paul Saborin (Suzanne) and Rosette Rigembald all of Hull, QC; grandchildren, Amanda and Joseph; great-granddaughter, Abiageal; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Jackie was also predeceased by her son, Frank; infant daughter, Alice and siblings, Ronald, Madeleine, Robert and Therese. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
